The Wharton County Junior College Foundation is pleased to announce the additions of Terry Hlavinka, Melissa Toon, and Scott Savage to its Board of Directors. Each brings extensive professional experience and a strong commitment to supporting higher education and workforce development in the region.

Hlavinka, the President and CEO of Hlavinka Equipment Company in East Bernard, is a longtime business and community leader who offers strategic insight and deep knowledge of local industry needs.

Toon, the President & CEO of the Central Ford Bend Chamber of Commerce, brings a background in education and community engagement with a focus on expanding opportunities for students.

Savage, the Community and Regulatory Affairs Manager at Tenaris in Bay City, is an experienced leader in the energy sector who is dedicated to strengthening access to education and supporting the next generation of professionals.

The Wharton County Junior College Foundation, a 501(C)(3) non-profit whose mission is to provide educational awareness and financial support to Wharton County Junior College (“WCJC”), continues to increase its impact in the community and with students.  This includes their upcoming casino event in May at the Sugar Land Marriott, giving away scholarships annually to students, and building connections with former students.

“We are thrilled to welcome Terry, Melissa, and Scott to the Foundation,” said Board President Gary Gillen. “Their leadership and community experience will strengthen our ability to serve WCJC students and expand the opportunities available to them.”

The WCJC Foundation has offices on the Wharton campus, inside the J. M. Hodges Library, and on its Richmond Campus.   For more information on ways to give to the Foundation or to learn how you can support this effort visit wcjcfoundation.org or contact Jonathan Jeter at jeterj@wcjc.edu or 979-532-6981.
