The Wharton County Junior College Foundation is proud to announce Gary Gillen as the new President of its Board of Directors, with Bruce Krauskopf stepping into the role of Vice President. Their leadership will guide the Foundation’s continued efforts to support WCJC students and programs. Outgoing president Suzanne Armour, who has served with dedication and vision, will remain on the board, providing valuable continuity as the Foundation advances its mission.

Gary Gillen, the longtime President at Gillen Pest Control and active community member, brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Board President. Gillen has been instrumental in advancing the Foundation’s scholarship programs and outreach initiatives, and he is committed to expanding opportunities for students to pursue their education and career goals.

Bruce Krauskopf, the newly elected Vice President, also brings extensive experience and a passion for helping students succeed. Krauskopf has been actively involved in community initiatives across the region in his role at Matagorda Concrete, LLC, in Bay City, and he looks forward to collaborating with the board and WCJC leaders to increase the Foundation’s impact.

Outgoing president Suzanne Armour has been a driving force for the Foundation’s growth. Under her leadership, the Foundation expanded its scholarship offerings and launched new fundraising events, enhancing the college’s ability to meet the educational needs of the region.

“We are immensely grateful to Suzanne for her outstanding leadership and dedication,” said incoming President Gary Gillen. “I am honored to follow in her footsteps and look forward to building on the Foundation’s successes. With Bruce as Vice President, we are excited to lead this organization into a new era of growth and support for our students and community.”
